The Stimulus Africa Entrepreneurship Symposium [SAES] is a platform that is designed to provide a space and opportunity for entrepreneurs across the African continent to come together, share best practice and have dialogue spaces, showcase their ideas, prototypes and businesses and meet potential collaborators, partners, investors and funders whilst growing their networks. This platform was created by Stimulus Africa, a business and entrepreneurship hub that builds capacity in entrepreneurs through mentorship, training and networking based in Harare, Zimbabwe.
About SAES 2016: ICT for Development
The Stimulus Project Management Network is the proud host of this ground breaking symposium in partnership with SNV Zimbabwe which focuses on sustainable development through ICT’s . The symposium runs from 30th March 2016 – 1st April 2016 and is being held at the Stimulus Innovation Centre, 171 Fife Ave, Harare, Zimbabwe.
The symposium has a focus on four key thematic areas;
‘ICT4D or ICT4Dev or ICT 4 Development refers to the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the fields of socioeconomic development, International development and human rights. The theory behind this is that more and better information and communication furthers the development of a society. When ICT is the fundamental of the ICT4D, the development aspect in ICT can have no boundary meaning the reach of ICT4D is vast, as vast as the need and understanding of a community’s development.’
“The United Nations, through its UN Development Programme, actively promotes ICT4D as a powerful tool for economic and social development around the world.”
